A few years ago, the husband got way over his head with debt. Those were trying times. Creditors were sending us letters left and right, annoying calls every few minutes, and we lived in constant pressure and stress. Thankfully it all stopped now. We found a way to slowly pay off our debts by working an agreement with the creditors. It is slow going but we are doing our best. His daughter told us about nonprofit debt management but we already had things rolling. Most of the medical bills are paid off and the next on our list are his credit card bills when we have enough money to pay it all off. We do not aim for him to get his almost perfect credit score before the crash, we just want to get rid of most of the worries because it gave us sleepless nights. If you have not had the same problem, you will not understand but if you did then you know what I am talking about. And believe me we do not plan on dong the same thing again. You know spending too much money when we know we have to pay in the end. Because no one really knows when the economy will stabilize again. It is better to be cautious and curtail spending.
