I bought fish heads the other day. I went to the fish store which regularly sells huge fish heads for only $3 each and bought me two. Good thing the husband bought a bolo (machete) months ago so I was able to use that to chop the heads off into desired pieces. I had a good time cleaning it remembering the days when I used to cook for my family in Leyte and Filipino food is much appreciated. The husband and the little man are not much into Filipino food so I am the only person who eats it here. It would be nice if I have Filipina friends to come over but then I don't socialize much so no hope in that area. Anyway, I put the cut-up pieces in freezer bags and I thawed one yesterday and made fish soup. It was so good! Not as good as grandma's recipe but I am learning each time. The husband said it smelled good but did not even try to taste it. I don't blame him though. I cook food that are not the norm for him so he is afraid to taste anything unless I tell him what is in it. When it comes to food in this household, we compromise-the husband eats food I fix provided he knows what's in it and it looks delectable enough and I eat his food every now and then. The little man has his own choices as well but he leans mostly on his father's likes.Works well for us.
