When I was little girl, I used to go to my grandparents place. Mainly for food, to watch television, and be with my grandparents. I am not their favorite grandkid but I thought I am, still do. Next to cousin raygie though. I was pretty smart when I was growing up
and grandad and I used to match wits. Mostly about literature. Poems to be exact. He used to say a poem to me whenever I would go and visit them. We shared a poem we memorized by heart, All Things Bright and Beautiful. He was in his seventies but he still could recite the poem. It was amazing since that poem was taught at fourth grade. But this poem I copied is his favorite. I guess because I didn't know this particular poem. Even when he had speach impairment after his stroke he still would recite this. It is almost his birthday and even if he has been long gone, we still remember. Lolo, this is for you.
I shot an arrow into the air,
It fell to earth, I knew not where;
For, so swiftly it flew, the sight
Could not follow it in its flight.
I breathed a song into the air,
It fell to earth, I knew not where;
For who has sight so keen and strong,
That it can follow the flight of song?
Long, long afterward, in an oak
I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end,
I found again in the heart of a friend.
Excited!
