Canker sores, also known as aphthous ulcers, are small sores that occur inside the mouth. I occasionally have this and boy does it hurt like nothing else especially with salty food. Also if by accident it rubs into something inside the mouth. I don't know if it has got something to do with my diet (hubby claims it is the reason) or because of a lack of certain vitamins. I read it might be because of stress. I used to have it almost on a monthly basis last year that hubby teased me it might be some kind of herpes. I was mad and at the same time annoyed at him that I searched it online and found out it is a normal thing for some people. And it is not contagious (thank goodness!). Hubby claimed he has never had it before. So he told me I should start the same diet he has. And forget about rice and dried fish? No way.
I have found the cure for it. Or at least it works for me. Take ascorbic acid daily for a few days (can't take this for long because I have stomach ulcer) and the soreness will be gone in no time. Believe me, it does work. And what can it hurt right? I usually would just take the ascorbic acid for three straight days (once a day) and it heals the sore gradually. My father said I should brush the sore when brushing my teeth but man that always results to tears and wanting to c*** somebody. Wouldn't you? I will stick to the vitamin C supplement.
