In this crappy economy we have right now, it is hard to maintain good credit anymore. Anything can happen which might cause a person to lose his good credit like job loss, and mounting bills. It is one of the hardest things to happen too since people rely on good credit (unless they have cash) to buy homes and properties. The husband fell to this two years ago. He was laid off from work and between moving expenses and other bills, we lived from paycheck to paycheck once he started working again. We were late paying bills and his score just went downhill after that. He was disappointed but it did not stop him from going forward. He set out the task for his credit repair last year. It was not easy but he is slowly going up after that slump. His daughter helped him to his repair credit because they found out there were erroneous reports in his name as well.
Sure we spent money to monitor his credit score and history but it is all starting to pay off. He is now back to the good side after being in the bad for a while. He said he does not want to go back there and I don't blame him for it. It sucks! And the worries were stressful. We are glad he set out to fix credit because if not then he would still have been in the dump, credit-wise.
