Living with a toddler has its ups and downs. The little man can be an angel if he wants to but he can also turn my world upside down when things does not suit him. When we are coped up inside the house, I have to find things he can be interested in while I do my chores. He has plenty of toys which includes cars, a four wheeler (his father decided his son has to have access to it inside the house), books, and a lot more besides.
But these usually does not keep his attention for long. Before I know it, he is already in the kitchen either opening the cabinet doors or climbing up on the kitchen counter. Sometimes I long for the days when he can stay in his playard for hours on end without complaining while I do some cleaning. But now he knows how to get out of one so there is no use in making him stay in it. I can't wait for the time when he will listen to me and understand that when mama says no she means it. Perhaps he will be better behaved when he gets older.
Today is a busy day for me. I cleaned our place from the bathroom to the kitchen. Threw two bags of trash, scrub the counters, and cooked food. That is aside from doing the laundry and taking care of the little man. It is already 12 noon and I may have finished cleaning but I am not done with the laundry yet. I have to fold a lot of clothes and still have about two loads for the washer. I feel good though. I like to see our place clean. I have to do it so the little man can do his thing here without me worrying about his safety. You know what it is like with a toddler, you can't let the place get dirty or he might find something unsuitable or worse he will get sick. I have given him his lunch and he is just waiting for his milk and maybe if I get lucky he will take his nap. I am a bit tired but tomorrow is the weekend and we will get to relax as family.
The husband and I's new year's resolution is to get fit. We let ourselves go last year and we will try to live healthy this year. Thus the plan to join a fitness center. The problem is most centers are expensive and we have the little man to think about. So he asked me if we can just do it at home. We might since what I really want is to to just have a treadmill anyway. I think we can afford one and if we can find the place to put it then I can start an exercise regime. I know it will not be easy to get well-toned muscles right way but I am not aiming to be model sexy. I just want to get rid of a few pounds of fat.
I have been bugging him with either going to the gym or buy me a treadmill but I know I can't have both. I have to choose one and make sure that is what I really want. Or else I will end up complaining to him. If we only have enough money to buy a treadmill and a stationary bike maybe that would be like having our own gym, lol. I will settle for whatever we can afford and what will work good for us. We like to walk but having to travel almost thirty minutes to get to the beach is a lot of time we could have spent exercising to stay fit. I hope we will make up our mind because time is of the essence and our health is important. The earlier we act on this plan the better it will be for us.
